Scholarships are awarded by the Old Dominion Chapter to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of chapter members. Qualifying college and graduate student scholarships are also available.

The chapter forwards one finalist to be considered for the $5,000 scholarship awarded by SWANA National. 

2024 Scholarship Applications 

$2,000 chapter scholarship awards are made available for graduating high school seniors among children and grandchildren of chapter members. Qualifying college and graduate student awards are also available.

One chapter winner may be selected for consideration of SWANA International Scholarship award. 

Applications and all supporting documentation are due by May 1, 2024 tand can be emailed to info@swanava.org. Late applications are unable to be accepted.

The Old Dominion Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America invites nominations for the  SWANA Old Dominion Service Awards.  Established by the Chapter in 2010, these awards are presented annually to recognize individuals and programs that enhance the management of solid waste in Virginia and/or increase public understanding of solid waste management challenges and success stories.
