Message from the President
For over 40 years, the Solid Waste Association of North America has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field. Our association serves more than 10,000 members throughout
North America, and thousands more with conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses.
The Old Dominion Chapter consists of over 300 professionals actively working in the solid waste field throughout the Commonwealth. Our members represent the largest cross section of solid waste
managers, operators, and consultants in Virginia. We train more than 200 professionals in the various disciplines of solid waste management every year.
Our Association seeks to foster networking and cooperation among solid waste professionals, including regulators and provides educational opportunities to enhance members' expertise in the solid
waste management field. We carry out a variety of activities and programs to share information, provide continuing education opportunities and to establish innovative research programs to serve
public interest. Some of the programs that benefit chapter members include:
•Professional Development Courses
•Certification Training
