The SWANA Old Dominion Chapter has created several committees to help members develop and access the knowledge and research they need. These committees are staffed and organized solely through the volunteer efforts of chapter members.
Landfill and Recycling (Technical) Committee
Ensures the accurate and timely dissemination of information on waste management facility permitting, design, construction operations as well as technology transfer for recycling, transfer stations, landfills and other technical issues. Produces SWANA Old Dominion Chapter quarterly newsletter. Develops programs and activities to increase awareness and interest in the chapter and its programs. Ensures active communications continue within the chapter. Contact Jon Clary: (804) 727-8774
Awards and Scholarship Committee
Promotes and monitors scholarship programs from the SWANA Old Dominion Chapter and SWANA national organization. Contact Sheldon Cash (540) 586-7656

Young Professionals (YP)
This committee is a resource to help YPs advance professionally in the solid waste industry. The SWANA YP Group puts on networking events for its members throughout the year and at SWANA conferences.
