Chapter Committees
The SWANA Old Dominion Chapter has created several committees to help members develop and access the knowledge and research they need. These committees are staffed and organized solely through the volunteer efforts of chapter members.
Landfill and Recycling (Technical) Committee
Ensures the accurate and timely dissemination of information on waste management facility permitting, design, construction operations as well as technology transfer for recycling, transfer stations, landfills and other technical issues. Acts a conduit between the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and SWANA.

Legislative Committee
Tracks legislation within Virginia that may affect solid waste management professionals and their operations. Informs and educates members of significant proposed legislation.

Communication Committee
Produces SWANA Old Dominion Chapter quarterly newsletter. Develops programs and activities to increase awareness and interest in the chapter and its programs. Ensures active communications continue within the chapter.

Awards and Scholarship Committee
Promotes and monitors scholarship programs from the SWANA Old Dominion Chapter and SWANA national organization.

Membership Committee
Promotes chapter membership. Develops and implements programs designed to increase membership.

Training Committee
Manages and works with other committees to provide chapter training and certification needs.

International Board Member
Represents the Old Dominion Chapter on SWANA's International Board of Directors (IB). The IB is the corporate board for SWANA and is responsible for the international organization.
